Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic support and advice to a global association in the area of nutrition and health policy.
- Monitoring and analysing developments on food and nutrition regulation and policy across Asia.
- Participating in key government meetings (e.g. Codex) in Asia and internationally.
- Assessing the effect of changes in legislation, developing policy options and making recommendations.
- Managing the development and implementation of policy/ regulatory projects in food and nutrition.
- Working with our scientific-technical experts on developing solutions to regulatory and policy questions.
- Drafting position papers and coordinating the development of longer reports.
- Preparing and giving presentations to international audiences.
Skill and knowledge requirements:
- At least two working languages. Must be excellent in English and an Asian language.
- Attention to detail, good research and analytical skills.
- Interest in Asia and global policy developments in food and health.
- Ability to summarise complex arguments clearly and accurately.
- Familiar or have exposure in public policy related to food and health areas.
- Practical understanding of decision-making and public affairs in Asia.
- Team player, strategic thinker, self-starter, good communicator, attentive listener and skilled networker.
- Proven organisational ability and excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent deadlines.
- A keen interest to travel regionally and internationally.
