Our client is a US company whose main product is DNS servers. The company’s products have been selling very well in US and Europe. The company is now trying to penetrate into the Asean market.
The Sales Director will take care of the South East Asia region and will report to the VP of Sales, AP located in Hong Kong.
The Sales Director should possess excellent relationship with all the major operators in ASEAN particularly in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. Hong Kong and China is excluded.
He /she will have no direct report particularly at the initial period of time. Technical support will be provided and dispatched from Hong Kong.
He /she should work very independently and be able to obtain sales results pretty much on his own. Given the fact that the product is not a very complicated software product, the pre-sales and support implementation workload is limited.
The candidate should be a senior sales person who still maintains ability to perform frontline sales work.
He /she should be technical oriented. Previous experience in selling system level software or middleware or security software to operators is an advantage.
Proven sales track record to operators in the region is a MUST.
Since the Sales Director does not need to manage people or a sales team, people who has been a senior management for a long time and has lost touch with frontline sales activity is not a good match.
The candidate is expected to be located either in Singapore or Malaysia. He is expected to work from home. In order to minimize expenses, there will probably be no office in Singapore.
Quarterly traveling to US is expected.
Attractive compensation package will be provided to suitable candidate. Stock options may be provided on top of the compensation.
